Every College Freshman Needs These Essential School Supplies.

Buying school supplies is one of my favourite pastimes. A new school year is always exciting for me because it means it’s time to start thinking about back-to-school shopping! Because of my newfound economical mindset, I’ve been able to utilise some of the same items for more than one school year. Binders last longer when they aren’t dumped in lockers, stacked on top of one other, and lugged about the corridors!

When I began my freshman year at Temple, I had no idea what materials I would need for college and which ones should be left behind at home. Here is my list of essential college school supplies for those of you who are just beginning to stock up! Do yourself a favour and take advantage of these products if you have them laying around the home! It’s always good to find ways to save money.

Single-inch Binders, One for Each Class (Depending On Your Schedule)

A single master binder is too cumbersome for me to carry about in my bag all the time, therefore I don’t like to use it. However, if you have a number of sessions scheduled close together, it may be beneficial to merge one or two classes into one binder.

Notebooks with Sturdy Spirals for College Students (1 For Each Class)

At least two semesters is a good length of time for me to use the same notebook. I have had several of my notebooks through four semesters of school! If the notebooks aren’t fully destroyed, it’s okay to use them again in college. I would never have thought to do this in high school.

Case for Pencil

Since my freshman year, I’ve been using the same one. If you’re like me and like to take notes with a tonne of different coloured pens and highlighters, the pencil case is a must-have in your bag.

More than enough pens to go around

If at all possible, take notes in colour; it’s much more fun! Among my favourite pens are the Pilot G-2s, which I use often. They don’t leave ink splotches on my paper, which is a huge plus for me! Paper Mate Ink Joy gel pens are also a favourite of mine!

Mechanical Pencils with Lead and Pink Pearl Eraser.

A pencil sharpener isn’t always available in college classes… Because of this, mechanical pencils are an absolute need. An excellent pencil eraser is a must-have for anybody using mechanical pencils.

A Practical and Reliable Scheduler

This is a critical issue… Without it, I wouldn’t have made it through my first year! Find the greatest planner for your requirements by reading this page!

Index Cards with Sticky Notes.

You may choose any size or colour you choose. These are great for taking notes and putting them in your textbooks. Of course, there are index cards for reference.

Three-hole punch and stapler.

All those five-page documents must be assembled somehow, right? It may be useful to have a smaller version for your pencil case! There’s no need for the three hole punch, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll dread carrying around a binder’s worth of handouts. With this, you’ll be able to view all of the documents you’ve accumulated!

Hopefully, after reading this, you have a better idea of what you really need and what you can do without. The bulk of these products may also be obtained at a dollar shop if you have one nearby. Do not overextend yourself in terms of your financial resources!
